This home white heavy mesh gamer by Sandow SK was worn by Tim Watters during the 1981-82 NHL season, his rookie year. The Winnipeg Jets drafted Watters in the 1979 NHL Amateur Draft. After spending 3 seasons with Michigan Tech University, Watters joined the Jets as a rookie in 1981-82. He remained with the franchise for 7 seasons, before joining the LA Kings in 1988-89. For the next 7 years Watters played for the Wayne Gretzky led Kings and in 1992-93 made his only trip to the Stanley Cup Finals. When his playing days were done, Tim worked as an assistant for the Boston Bruins and then spent 3 years as the Head Coach of his former school, Michigan Tech University.
The game wear on this rookie sweater is solid and consists of plenty of stick and slash marks, board burns, board paint transfer and fine inner pilling. A custom skate lace style fight strap is sewn into the original loop style strap that remains sewn perfectly to the inside back number of this gamer. Removed from the left shoulder is the Winnipeg Jets 10-year anniversary patch. A fantastic old school Jets gamer that was donned by Watters during his rookie season and the Jets 3rd since joining the NHL.
