This home white knit gamer by Maska was worn by Randy Holt during the 1981-82 NHL season. The Chicago Blackhawks selected Holt in the 3rd round of the 1973 NHL Amateur Draft. This defenseman enjoyed a 10-year NHL career that saw him represent the Blackhawks, Barons, Canucks, Kings, Flames, Capitals and Flyers. Along the way Holt played in 395 games and racked up an amazing 1438 PIMS!
The 1981-82 season saw Holt get dealt to Washington from Calgary on November 25th 1981. Randy became a mainstay in the Caps lineup thereafter, playing in 53 games and amassing an impressive 250 PIMS during that time. Offered here is one of Holt’s home jerseys from that season. The game wear, while on the lighter side, does consist of stick and slash marks, board burns, board paint transfer and areas of fine inner pilling. A lengthy ribbon styled fight strap with a hand tied knot can be found affixed to the inside back number. Shown above, for your enjoyment, are some video highlights of Holt letting fly while wearing his white Caps sweater. A nice enforcer’s sweater from Holt’s first of two seasons with the Capitals.
