1980-81 Steve Shutt Canadiens Game Worn Jersey
Lot #23

This home white knit gamer by Maska was worn by Steve Shuutt during the 1981-82 NHL season. Shutt patrolled the Left Wing on one of the greatest lines in NHL history alongside fellow Hall of Famers Guy Lafleur and Jacques Lemaire. He was an integral part of the Canadiens dynasty of the 1970’s, winning 5 Stanley Cups in all during that decade. The 1976-77 season saw Steve lead the NHL in goals with 60. With this total he became only the 3rd player in the history of the league to ever score 60 goals in a season. Shutt was 3 times a 1st or 2nd team NHL All Star and he represented the Canadiens in 3 NHL All Star games.

He represented Team Canada in the thrilling 1976 Canada Cup and partook in the 1979 Challenge Cup for Team NHL against the Russians. His 424 career goals were one of the better totals accumulated during his era as were his 50 playoff goals and nearly 100 playoff points. Steve had a knack for scoring the big goal and will forever be remembered as one of the finest Left Wingers of his generation. His 1993 Hall of Fame induction was well deserved and never in doubt.

The game use on this home Maska knit is solid consisting of stick marks, board burns, plenty of recognizable Montreal Forum board paint transfer, fine inner pilling and a handful of team-sewn repairs. A few of these repairs are quite significant in size as seen in the photos above. The early 1980’s Maskas are a beloved style among jersey collectors and this Hall of Fame offering will surely not disappoint.
