This home white knit gamer by Maska was worn by Pierre Mondou during the 1979-80 NHL season. Mondou was Montreal’s 1st round draft pick in the 1975 NHL entry draft. Pierre began his career with the Stanley Cup winning 1976-77 squad, making several playoff appearances. He began taking a regular shift at center for the Canadiens the following season, and was a full time part of the late 1970’s dynasty. He played with the club thru the mid 1980’s, retiring after the 1984-85 season due to an eye injury suffered in March of 1985. He produced at nearly a point per game clip and registered a number of 30-goal seasons for Les Habitants. During his shortened career, Pierre was the recipient of 3 Stanley Cup rings.
This beautiful vintage white Maska shows fine game use that consists of stick marks, board burns, recognizable Montreal Forum board paint transfer, fine inner pilling, un-repaired holes and approximately 50 team-sewn repairs. There is faint evidence of a nameplate reattachment, quite common for this era. An awesome example that epitomizes old-time hockey.
