This road red dureen gamer by Wilson was worn by Mario Tremblay during the 1978-79 NHL season. This was the final Stanley Cup winning year of the Montreal Canadiens dynasty of the late 1970’s. Mario spent his entire 12 year career as a member of Les Habitants. He joined the franchise in 1974-75 and beginning in his 2nd season in the NHL reeled off 4-consecutive Stanley Cups. Mario notched four 30-goal seasons and better than 250 goals in his career. The 1978-79 season saw Mario notch 30 goals while wearing this very sweater.
The nameplate has been removed from the back by the franchise for recycling purposes. Solid game use exists in the form of stick marks, board burns, board paint transfer, un-repaired burn holes, inner pilling and team-sewn repairs. Fine looking example from year four of one of hockey’s all-time great dynasties.
