1976-77 Henry Boucha Rockies Game Worn Jersey - First Year Rockies
Lot #45

This road blue mesh gamer by Champion was worn by Henry Boucha during the Colorado Rockies 1st ever season of play in the NHL. Boucha, a Minnesota native, was the 16th overall selection in the 1971 NHL Amateur draft by the Detroit Red Wings. After representing the US National Team and the US Olympic Team, Henry began his NHL career with Detroit in 1971-72. He spent 3 years in the Motor City before moving onto the Minnesota North Stars for a season. Next up was the WHA’s Minnesota Fighting Saints for a partial season and then a brief stay with the Kansas City Scouts. Boucha’s final season was with the Colorado Rockies in their inaugural season of 1976-77.

This game jersey was worn during the Colorado Rockies very humble beginnings. The Rockies switched sets more than once that inaugural season and this was the style they wore to begin NHL play. The game wear on this Champion mesh consists of stick marks, board burns, un-repaired burn holes and inner pilling. Now three decades old, this rarely offered defunct style is sure to be an important addition to any collector of vintage gamers.
