This home white heavy dureen gamer by Rawlings was worn by Barry Gibbs during the 1975-76 NHL season. Gibbs was the 1st overall selection in the 1966 NHL entry draft, becoming the property of the Boston Bruins. After parts of 2 seasons in Beantown, Barry moved on to the Minnesota North Stars where he played for 6 seasons. He then spent 4 seasons in Atlanta, 2 more in St. Louis and then a final stop in LA before calling it quits on a 13-year NHL career. Gibbs played in the 1973 NHL All Star game representing the leagues Western Conference. He combined his skill on the blueline with a mean streak that helped strengthen his overall presence.
Sewn into the collar are the Rawlings manufacturer’s tag and a 2” shorter tag. Game wear exists in the form of stick marks, board burns, board paint transfer, inner pilling and a couple of team sewn repairs. Upon close inspection, evidence of a TV nameplate can be found. This is a fine example from the long defunct Atlanta Flames franchise which existed in the NHL for a mere 7 seasons.
