This Philadelphia Flyers logo puck was used by Dave "The Hammer" Schultz to score a goal on January 31, 1974. Schultz, of course, was known for his fighting, but this goal came in what turned out to be a 20-goal season for The Hammer. Those 20 goals, and the series clinching goal in overtime of the quarterfinals against the Flames, helped propel the Flyers to a massive upset of the heavily favored Bruins and their first Stanley Cup. Of course Schultz could fight as well as he amassed 348 penalty minutes this season and then surpassed it with a record 472 minutes in 1974-75, a record that still stands today.
The puck is in beautiful condition. These goal pucks were labeled for only two years in the early 1970's and are becoming very difficult to obtain.
