This home yellow and green dureen gamer by Wilson was worn by Ron Stackhouse during the 1970-71 NHL season, his rookie year. Stackhouse broke in with the Golden Seals after being drafted 18th overall by Oakland in 1969. As a rookie while wearing this gamer, Stackhouse was paired with Carol Vadnais beginning a journey that would span a dozen NHL seasons. Ron came into his prime as a member of the Penguins where he skated for 9 seasons, notching several double digit goal campaigns as well as an All Star game berth.
This spectacular dureen remains as vibrant as the day it was worn 40 years ago. As was customary for the Seals in the early 1970’s, they would take the individually sewn letters of the players name on and off as was needed based on the National TV schedule. This fortunate survivor is one of a few to have its name still remain on the reverse. Game wear consists of stick marks, board burns, washed out bloodstains, fine inner pilling and team-sewn repairs. A wonderfully preserved example worn by this All Star defenseman during his rookie season.
