This road orange dureen gamer by General Athletic and Pearson Sporting Goods was worn by Andre Lacroix during the 1970-71 NHL season. Lacroix began his NHL career with the Philadelphia Flyers in the first year of the franchise’s existence, 1967-68. He spent the first 4 years of his NHL career in Philadelphia and then spent the 1971-72 season with the Chicago Black Hawks. In 1972-73, Lacroix bolted to the WHA and became one of the league’s all-time greatest players. He is the all-time leading scorer in WHA history by a large margin with 798 points in 551 games. He is also the all-time leader in assists with 547, nearly 200 more than the next on the list. Lacroix was the WHA’s 1st Team All Star Center in each of the leagues first 3 seasons and he played in 5 WHA All Star games. Andre was the first scoring champ in WHA history, a title he also captured in 1974-75. When the WHA merged into the NHL, Lacroix went with them and played for the Hartford Whalers for a brief time in 1979-80 before retiring.

Sewn into the hem is the General Athletic tagging. The game wear on this vintage v-neck dureen is on the lighter side and consists of stick marks, board burns, board paint transfer, un-repaired burn holes, abrasions and inner pilling. Sewn to the inside back, beneath the player number is a vintage garter style fight strap. This all-original example is quite a sight to behold for the old school enthusiasts.
