This stunning home white dureen gamer by Stall & Dean and Triangle Sporting Goods was worn by Ted Taylor and or Marc Dufour circa the 1963-65 AHL seasons. Taylor enjoyed a lengthy professional career, serving time in both the NHL and WHA. His NHL career began in 1964-65 with a 4-game callup to the New York Rangers. He would spend parts of 2 seasons on Broadway before joining the Detroit Red Wings in 1966-67. Ted was then part of the inaugural Minnesota North Stars squad in 1967-68. In 1968-69 he latched onto the WHL’s Vancouver Canucks and spent the next 4 years with them, the final two being the Canucks first two NHL seasons. Taylor then bolted to the WHA’s Houston Aeros, where he spent the next 6 years. In the WHA’s inaugural season, Taylor put forth a career year as he scored 34 goals and added 42 helpers for a total of 76 points.
Marc Dufour also saw some NHL time with the New York Rangers, receiving brief call-ups in 1963-64 and 1964-65. He played in only one other NHL season, 1968-69, as a member of the LA Kings. Dufour actually returned to the Clippers in 1970-71 and played out the remainder of his professional career with them. He retired after the 1974-75 AHL season with 5 more years with Baltimore in tow.
Offered here is a rare and highly desirable 2-year style, worn by the Clippers in their 2nd and 3rd seasons in the AHL. Sewn into the collar of this gamer is the Triangle Sporting Goods tag. Sewn into the hem is the old school Stall & Dean tag. The game wear on this size 50 sweater consists of some stick and slash marks, board burns, board paint transfer, washed out bloodstains, areas of pilling and a single run about an inch and a half in length on the elbow at the hands of a board burn. Records show both Taylor and Dufour wearing the player number 21 in the 2 seasons that this jersey style was worn. This impeccably preserved dureen is now nearly 50 years removed from the ice. It remains in outstanding condition, with still vibrant colors as though it had just left the ice last night. This very tough style is a true condition rarity and was worn by at least one former NHL winger, choice!
