Aaron with an In-Dell-ible Mark on Fall 2014 Auction
Aaron Dell & Ed Belfour
Dell’s Game Worn Mask
Up for Auction
Goaltender Aaron Dell was just a sophomore in the 2010-11 season when he broke into the North Dakota starting line-up and rewrote the schools record book.
The fact that it was Hall of Famer Ed Belfour’s season win total was no big deal for the young goalie.
“It’s pretty easy to be confident when the team is playing so well,” the soft spoken Dell told reporter Brad Schlossman during the team’s run to the Frozen Four that season.
Dell’s 30 wins that season broke Belfour’s mark of 29 set during the 1986-87 hockey season.
Now Dell’s game worn UND mask from his record setting season is up for grabs in the GAMEWORNAUCTIONS.NET Fall 2014 Auction.
Since leaving North Dakota after his junior season, Dell has put up impressive minor league numbers while looking to land an NHL job.

After going through the San Jose Sharks training camp he’s now with the team’s AHL affiliate in Worcester, MA, just two seasons after being named the CHL’s most outstanding goaltender as a rookie.
No matter how his career turns out, Dell will be known as the goalie who broke Eddie “The Eagle’s” record and said it was a no-brainer to play for the Fighting Sioux.
“They were the first ones to talk to me back in juniors,” said Dell in a sophomore year interview. “After seeing the facilities and everything, there’s nothing better than this.”

In a close vote, North Dakota Advances!!! (9/29/14 9:00 PM Update)
1987 University of North Dakota
With preseason hockey in full swing, the NCAA gets you warmed-up with a Frozen Four question:
Which is the greatest team in Frozen Four history?
College hockey fans help decide with online voting in the bracket style contest and Monday’s match-up is a doozy.
Former national champions North Dakota (1987) and Denver (1961) square off in an Elite 8 battle for the right to advance to the virtual Frozen Four.
You can see the team capsules and entire bracket here, as this game pits HOF goaltender Ed Belfour (UND ’87 Freshman) against one of the most explosive offenses in NCAA history.
And speaking of North Dakota, we thought it would be fun to pit two UND logos against each other, the retired Indian-head logo vs the geometric design.
Who should win our heads up battle? Let us know on Twitter @GameWornAuction.
